Measure Right
Privacy Policy
This policy describes how Measure Right: Camera Ruler handles information. Privacy questions may be sent to davidadraper@proton.me.
Camera and photos
Camera access is used only when you choose the live measurement feature. You may also select a photo from your device for measurement. Camera frames and selected photos are processed on the device to calibrate scale, place measurement points, and create annotated results. They are not uploaded to the developer.
Information stored on the device
The app may store settings, calibration values, part identifiers, operator-entered notes, templates, measurements, annotated images, and report history in app-local storage. CSV, PDF, image, and backup files are created only when you request them and remain under your control.
Information collection and sharing
The app does not create user accounts and does not include advertising or analytics SDKs. The developer does not collect, sell, rent, or share personal information through a developer-operated server. Measurement data is not used for tracking or advertising.
Permissions
The app requests camera permission for live measurement. You can deny or revoke this permission in Android settings and continue using supported photo-based features. Android's system picker controls which photos or export destinations the app can access.
Retention and deletion
Locally stored data remains until you delete it in the app, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app. Files exported outside the app remain until you delete them from the selected destination.
Security and measurement limitations
Data stays on the device unless you independently choose to share or back up an exported file. Camera measurements depend on correct calibration, camera angle, lens characteristics, lighting, image quality, and the measured surface. Verify results with an appropriate physical instrument before using them for safety-critical, medical, legal, or regulated decisions.
Children
The app is intended for adults and professional or general utility use. It is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
This policy may be updated when app functionality or legal requirements change. The effective date above will be revised when material changes are made.
